Program Information

 

 Royal Ridges Retreat provides a horsemanship program which addresses safe handling as well as riding and care of the horse.

Horsemanship classes include:

 Ride time-    Begins with safety and confidence then progresses along with the rider to advanced horsemanship skills. You can ride either Western or English.

 Horse science-   Riders learn safe, productive ground handling skills and become responsible for the care of their horse.

 Fellowship Time-  Includes discussion and topics relating the Bible to horsemanship.

 

 **Lessons are purchased in terms. Each term must be paid in full before beginning the term.**

Cowpoke Group Class- $70 per term

 

 

Beginning Western introduction to riding

Ages 4-7 

1 Hour Time Block

 

These young horse lovers learn to be safe and confident around horses while leading, grooming and learning basic riding skills.  Classes will begin unmounted and progress towards mounted.  Lesson includes 20-minute ride time, horse science and fellowship time.  Adult person (over 18 years of age) participation is required at each lesson to help with leading and supporting the rider.

 

 

Beginning Horsemanship Group Classes- $105 per term

 

Beginning Western introduction to riding

Ages 8-14

1 1/2 Hour Time Block

 

Learn basic horse safety, gain confidence and increase your skills as a rider and your knowledge of horses.  Includes a 45 minute ride time, horse science and fellowship time. Classes are offered in terms. Each new term repeats the same curriculum and only progress through basic horsemanship skills. Enroll in this class to get a good start with horses. Class may be taken repeatedly to gain more confidence.

 

 

Private or Semi Private Lessons- $210/ $175 per term

 

 

Individual or paired personal riding instruction.

Ages 4 and over

1 1/2 Hour Time Block 

 

Tailor the lesson to your specific needs and interests.  Work with an available instructor to structure a curriculum that is right for you.  Beginning to intermediate, Western and English flatwork classes available. Includes a 45-minute ride time, horse science and fellowship time. 

 

 

Foster In Rides- $105 per term

 

 

Practice and gain confidence

Ages 8 and over

1 1/2 Hour Time Block 

 

Practice the skills you have learned from your Beginning Horsemanship Class and gain confidence. Ride in a group setting with instructor supervision. Instructors will maintain safety, answer any questions and give feedback as needed. Recommended only for riders who feel comfortable in the saddle walk/trot and have grooming and saddling skills. Must complete at least one Beginning Horsemanship term to enroll.
