Horse Camps
Can I choose a cabin partner for
Resident Horse Camp?
Yes, you may choose ONE(1) friend. This requires that you choose
the friend
and the friend chooses you, so please communicate together and
work this out with your friend
prior to registration. Sending in registrations together is the
best way to assure that you will be together....but we work
really hard to make everyone happy!!
Do I have to be an experienced
rider to come to Horse Camp?
No. Some campers have never even touched a horse while others
have taken
riding lessons for years. Riders are grouped by riding level so
every one has fun
learning.
How much time with the horses do we
get?
This is a horse camp so everything we do we connect to horses.
At a minimum you
will have daily 1 hour blocks of riding lessons, horse science,
and trail rides. Plus
you will help tacking and un-tacking, play horse games, and help
with the camp chores.
What about safety?
This program is directed by a
CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) instructor
and we use CHA safety guidelines as our main source for a
providing a SAFE fun environment.
This includes the use of riding helmets.
Can I bring my own helmet?
Yes, you can if it has the approved safety label attached to the
inside of the helmet.
Can I bring my own horse?
No. We have enough horses available at the camp to ride and
learn from. You will
learn many things from riding a variety of horses. It is
also a safety issue. We know our horses and they know each
other. Neither one of us would know your horse.
What should I bring from home?
We recommend you bring the following items: Camera & film
(disposables work best),
warm clothing, jacket, plenty of extra socks, light rain
gear, boots or shoes with a defined heel,
tennis shoes, sweats (non-restrictive clothing),
old clothes that can get muddy, Bible, pen and paper, envelopes
and stamps, modest swim suit, change for pop and snacks or extra
craft projects, sleeping bag and pillow, towel and washcloth,
personal care items, flashlight and batteries.
Can I register for more than one
week?
Yes. We suggest you skip at least one week if you select
the same type camp, Resident and Resident or Day and Day.
DAY CAMPS
Can I have a group partner at Day
Camp?
Yes, you may chose one(1) friend - if - the friend is in the
same age or grade as you
are. Unless the older person is willing to move to the
younger persons group. We will not
move the younger person to an older group.
Are there horses at Day Camp?
Yes, each person will have the opportunity to be on a horse at
two times once during the
week if you want to ride. We encourage but do not force
you to ride. You will also
learn some horse science which will include grooming,
identification, and instruction.
Day Camp is a fun, activity oriented outdoor nature camp and horses are
only one activity
in that program.
Can I register for more than one
week?
Yes, but we would prefer you have several weeks between the two
sessions.
What type activities will we be
doing?
Activities are available based on the age group. Some potential
activities are horse rides,
hay rides, nature hikes, archery, crafts, field games,
slip-n-slide, big swing, swimming,
box hockey, capture the flag. As the camper gets older they can
look forward to more difficult
or challenging activities.

It is a series of ropes, cables and obstacles suspended between
trees from ground
level up to 30 feet. While this appears to be risky, we put
great emphasis
on safety with well trained staff and top quality equipment.
This challenge builds self esteem, confidence, communication
skills, and problem solving skills. It is fun and exciting as
well.

It is 12' x 38'.
